Application for Intermediate Programming in Java July 14-17th 2008
This page allows you to apply for the Intermediate Programming in Java workshop to be held at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Teachers who attend the entire workshop will earn 3 PLUs.

This workshop is for teachers with at least one year of Java programming experience! If you don't have any programming experience you should first take the Computing in the Modern World workshop and teach that course for 1 or more years.

If you have programming experience but not Java experience start with the Beginning Programming in Java workshop and teach the Beginning Programming course for 1 or more years.

Teachers with at least 1 year experience teaching Java can take this workshop and the AP workshop in the same summer.

For more information on this workshop please see http://coweb.cc.gatech.edu/ice-gt/605. In addition to the summer workshop there will be short 1 to 2-day workshops throughout the school year to further assist the teachers. In addition, Barbara Ericson, is available for classroom visits, questions, and other help.

You are not required to stay residential for this workshop. But, if you live > 30 miles from Georgia Tech and are a Georgia teacher we will pay for your hotel, parking, and meals during the workshop. This is possible becuase of a grant from the National Science Foundation. Out of state teachers will need to cover their own hotel, parking, and meals (except lunch).

Please fill out the questions and click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page when you are done. You must fill in your name, home address, and e-mail address!

We will notify you as to the status of your application within 2 weeks. Your principal must agree with the plan for your training and when you will offer the Computer Science AP course. Please download the Word document which you can get from the Intermediate Programming in Java workshop Web page and fill it out and have it signed by your principal. Fax the completed form to Felicia Auzla at 404 385-0965. Your application is not complete until we have this form! A maximum of 30 teachers can take this workshop. If you apply and then become unable to attend please contact Felicia Auzla, fauzla@cc.gatech.edu, so that we can accept another teacher.
